Time is just a convenient excuse

How many times have you caught yourself saying “I do not have enough time!”?

Here's the truth: time is not your issue.

Now if you are in a season of being busy then sometimes there is some truth in needing more hours in the day to get everything done. An external unexpected event like the recent bushfires will impact on your available time because it's not business as usual. Just be sure to watch how long you stay there though, because the longer you see yourself as time poor the more you will begin to believe your own story.

On the other hand, if you are a someone who has been complaining about not having enough time for months or even years, then listen up.

If you want to create a change, create a different outcome or a different experience then it's time to drop this pattern of thought from your thinking because it is not working for you. The only thing it's doing is keeping you in pain.

All the time management courses in the world won't help you until you know how to prioritise effectively. Until you are really clear on what you need to achieve, your purpose, your vision or reason for why you are doing what you do, then you will remain focussed on being busy rather than using your time wisely.

The answer lies in creating a compelling vision then backing it up with the right structure to make sure you are spending your time working on the highest priorities first.
