Do you find it hard to get a level of commitment towards achieving great results from some of your team members?
Wouldn't it be great if they could just be as excited and dedicated to the outcome as you were?
Is it too much to ask?
But to achieve it you need to realise that it's on you. You see, leading with vision is such a powerful way to engage your team that once you have done it once, you will want to repeat it over and over again.
Here are my top 3 tips for leading with a vision:
Create an appealing future. Be specific with your language: describe how it will look; how you will feel and what impact it will have on others.
Focus on 'what' you do as opposed to 'how' you do it. What is the outcome, the purpose of achieving it? Revisit Simon Sinek's 'Start With Why' Ted Talk (here's the link - https://youtu.be/u4ZoJKF_VuA )
Sell the vision to your team by helping them see what's in it for them. Tie it back to their values, their passion, their strengths.
